May was Mining Month—and what a busy and rewarding few weeks it’s been!

The month was filled with engagement, learning, and meaningful conversations across British Columbia. From conferences to community events, reminding why mining remains a cornerstone of B.C.’s economy and its clean energy future.
- We kicked things off at the Minerals North Conference in Prince George, where I had the opportunity to connect with industry peers and attend insightful sessions. A key theme echoed by many speakers: the mining industry has kept its head down for too long—it’s time to lead the conversation. The sessions were informative and thought-provoking and focused on the importance of reconciliation, meaningful Indigenous and community partnerships, and the need for responsible mining to help shape a sustainable and prosperous future for British Columbia and Canada.
- On May 8, I travelled to Victoria for Mining Day at the Legislature, supporting our clients and industry members. This event continues to be one of the most important advocacy opportunities for the sector. The day was filled with meaningful conversations with MLAs, political staff, and government officials about current and upcoming mining projects, Indigenous partnerships, and the critical role of mining in BC’s economy and clean energy transition.
- We wrapped out the month on a high note with a memorable visit to Princeton Mining Day and a tour of Copper Mountain Mine on May 22. After nearly nine years working in the mining sector, this was a standout experience. Seeing the community come together to celebrate the people, partnerships, and pride behind the industry was powerful. Events like this show that mining is about so much more than just resources—it’s about real people, high-paying jobs, strong local businesses, and vibrant communities.
All these experiences continue to reinforce why responsible mining matters—locally, provincially, and nationally. Looking ahead, we remain focused on what we do best: helping our clients and the industry build trust, tell their stories with clarity and impact, and engage in conversations that move the mining industry and the communities it supports- forward.
